Noises in the night

Marc woke up startled in the middle of the night because of noises outside. As it turned out, Kimnik the dog had broken loose from his line, and was trying to make his way into the tent.

After this somewhat sleep-deprived night, the team woke up to a beautiful morning with very little wind. Progress is slow, as predicted, because of the very rough terrain in this area, consisting of multi-year sea ice. Unfortunately the team is unable to share their beautiful images because of technical problems, so the image included with this audio message is from last year's expedition.
